Origin

The Haryana State Veterinary Council is a Statutory Body which became functional w.e.f. 15 Feb,1989 by adoption of The Indian Veterinary Council Act,1984 and charged with the responsibilities of regulation of veterinary practice in the state, standards of veterinary education, preparation and maintenance of an State Veterinary practitioners’ register.

Objectives

To prepare and maintain the State Veterinary Practitioners’ Register containing the names of all persons who possess the recognized veterinary qualifications.

  • To prepare and maintain Haryana State veterinary Practitioner register
  • To regulate Veterinary Practice in the Haryana.
  • To lay down the standards of professional Conduct, etiquette and code of ethics.
  • To advise Haryana State Government on all regulatory matters concerning Veterinary practice and Education.
  • To make activities for welfare & professional Development of Veterinarians.

Veterinary Services

  • To lay down the standards of professional Conduct, etiquette and code of ethics.
  • To advise Haryana State Government on all regulatory matters concerning Veterinary practice and Education.

Function of State Veterinary Council

  • To prepare and maintain the state ‘s Veterinary Practitioners’ Register containing the names of all persons who possess the recognized veterinary qualifications and who are for the time being enrolled on a State Veterinary Register of the State to which Indian Veterinary Council Act extends.
  • To recommend recognition or withdrawal of recognition of veterinary qualifications granted by veterinary institutions in India.
  • To lay down the standards of professional conduct, etiquette and code of ethics to be observed by veterinary practitioners
  • Imparting training in veterinary education for recognition of their qualifications
  • To regulate veterinary practice in the state
  • To implement the provisions of the Act, and Rules and Regulations framed there under.
